Shiitake Magazine

"Growing shiitake mushrooms means protecting the local satoyama."

That's what my father-in-law told me, and at first I didn't really understand what he meant.

As I researched shiitake mushroom cultivation, I realized that the activities of this region were deeply connected to the shiitake mushrooms I was involved with.

So, as both a shiitake mushroom farmer and a resident, I would like to interview people who live in the Satoyama area of Hokusetsu in a similar way, in order to learn more about their lives.
