Shiitake mushrooms grow from trees in the mountains.

Trees in the mountains are cut down and turned into firewood and charcoal.

Mountains that embrace trees are indispensable.

There is also the Inagawa River, which flows endlessly through the mountains.

There is a Satoyama there.

About Inagawa Town, the production area

Mount Ohno

At 753 meters, Mount Ono is the highest in the Hanshin area. From the summit, you can see the entire Hokusetsu area. On clear days, you can see a starry sky!

Inagawa River

The Inagawa River originates from Mount Ono. This river is a first-class river, and you can even see fireflies and giant salamanders on its banks.
In the summer, you can see children playing enthusiastically here, and in the fall, you can also go trout fishing.

Chrysanthemum charcoal

The Hokusetsu region was originally a charcoal producing region, and charcoal made from local sawtooth oak trees was called "chrysanthemum charcoal" because its cross section resembled a chrysanthemum flower. It has been treasured since the time of Sen no Rikyu, the tea master.

There are people who continue to make this "Kiku Charcoal"

fresh vegetables

Inagawa Town has all three of these qualities: good water, good soil, and good air. The vegetables grown here are... rich in flavor! At the Inagawa Roadside Station, where fresh vegetables are lined up, Nakashiitake Mushroom Farm products are also sold.
